Windows 10: Minimum ram

what is the minimum ram usage of windows 10 home 64 bit my pc is qrround 1.4 GB in idle

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

To RAM or not to RAM...

Hey genesis what hardware have you bought, you might be able to save on the ram and step up the rest of the hardware a little...

Or you could go out on the town as suggested... *Big Grin

 

Minimum RAM vs Recommended RAM

Hi John,

Having only 2 GB of RAM with for Windows 7 (64 bit) is not enough as Windows itself will use 1 – 2 GB and leave very little for anything else to use.



4 GB is really the minimum amount I’d use.



With the antivirus software scanning at the same time the computer will go slower.



It is the cheapest upgrade you can do.



Personally, I use 2 x 4 GB of RAM on one machine and I’ve got 2 x 8 GB on the other machine (excessive).
