Windows 10: Your pc couldn't start properly, after I installed a new SATA SSD.

*Urgently need help*Just bought and installed a new SATA SSD, and in my surprise. I can't get into windows. My pc's totally fine before I installed it, shut it down correctly.*"RecoveryYour PC couldn't start properlyAfter multiple tries, the operating system on your PC failed to start, so it needs to be repaired.Error code: 0xc0000001You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media like a disk or USB device, contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer."*After I pressed F1 here, I faced another blue screen, but with another message. Stating this:"File: \

"We couldn`t create a new partition or locate an existing one."

Try this:

Before you get to that message, press SHIFT + F10 to open a command prompt.

Run diskpart.
At the diskpart prompt, run these commands:

list disk

At this point you should see the SSD as disk 0. If it has another disk number, use that number rather than "0" in the next command.

select disk 0
clean
exit (to exit from diskpart)
exit (to exit from the command prompt)





That should clear the contents of the disk. The entire disk space should then show up in Windows setup as "Unallocated Space" as in the screenshot below.

Hi Jordan, no you don't have to set Windows on a hard drive, Windows 10 will run from an SSD or an HDD

Is the SSD Plugged into the lowest number SATA port on your Motherboard?

In your BIOS is SATA MODE set to AHCI

Is the SSD now top of the Boot order list?
