    Hello, this is really annoying, at this point I have tried so many CMDS, downloaded the securityhealthsetup, and yet my PC will not allow me to check my Virus and Threat protection settings. Please help

    admin password?

    You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

    running DOS as ADMIN

    I suggested that in post #4 but @bromberg doesn't seem to have tried it yet...

    Cannot access files/folders even though I am the only admin account

    Hi,

    To resolve the issue, we suggest you check for system file corruption. To run it, check these steps:

    • Right-click (or press and hold) the Start
      button, then select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").
