  1. Xcopy reports "A forced dismount was issued"

In running a batch to copy files to a spare hard drive, the end of the batch executes a dismount command to said drive. On most occasions, the program runs flawlessly, but sometimes the above output is generated.I assume that the file transfer isn't quite finished when this occurs, however, most times the last folder copied is empty. Is there a way to "wait" without having to employ keyboard interaction to prevent this output? The "Wait" command doesn't hack it.

    :)

  2. XCOPY Broke an entire Network Drive

Why would the below command completely dismount/remove a network drive when I copied it over?

    xcopy E:\test "\\computer\E$" /X /E /H /Y

It seemed to have stripped permissions of the entire E drive on target computer.

    Asking for a friend.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Sorry, screen shot did not seem to come through. If it still doesn't, here is the plain text:

    C:\Users\RBS\Desktop>xcopy uga testfolder

'xcopy' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

    operable program or batch file.
