Windows 10: Xbox app not wanting to install on different drive

i have a external hard drive and i used this on my laptop and it worked fine installing Xbox games on it but i formatted it for some reason when moving to my new computer and now i cant get it to install games on the external drive and when i try and change the folder it says "The folder you selected isn't on C:. Select a folder on C: to continue." i would not have a problem with installing games on C drive instead of E but my computer does not have enough space i have watched several videos on how to fix it and none of them have worked please help me i do not wanna have to spend 60$ on ha

I also suggested this due to how moving a game from an SSD to HDD can affect it's speed. But I do understand why you want to have Windows on an SSD for the same reason, at least until you can get a larger SSD that can keep your games with Windows on the faster drive.
