Windows 10: WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80004005 Error: 0x80004005 Unspecified error

Hello, I was installing Kali Linux using this site. https://www.kali.org/docs/wsl/wsl-preparations/#install-kali-wsl All went well until I installed Kali from the Microsoft store and ended up with this notification. I have run optionalfeatures.exe and the Virtual Machine Platform Folder and the Linux Subsystem files are both checked blue. How can I fix it???

I have looked over many other posts about this, all with the same error code, but with a different problem.

I have a computer thats a few years old, it has an ABIT kn8-sli motherboard, and its running off windows XP.

I was having problem with the hard drive before I gave up on it awhile back, and now I have come back and resolved that problem, but now when I get to the login screen and type in the password it says its in need of an update, then when it asks me if I want to update I click Yes, and then it says it won't work due to error 0x80004005.

The only operating system I have currently is windows 7. Do I need to go buy a new OS or is this recoverable?

Launching Ubuntu (or any other wsl system) i get such error: "WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80004005". Tried googling it, but nothing helps. I tried to restart Lxss, tried sfc, dism, etc., but no errors were found. And i still get this.
