Windows 10: WSL2 Running without enabling "Virtual Machine Platform"

I've been insider from the days it was launched and tried out WSL as soon it was introduced. Continued experimenting it until Hyper-V started interfering with my choice of hypervisor Oracle VirtualBox.Now, after many years staying out, I read somewhere that I can use WSL2 without Virtual Machine Platform. I updated WSL, installed Oracle Linux 8.7 and currently using WSL2 on Windows 10 22H2 & "used" it on Windows 11 24H2 just few hours ago, before I did something that started asking me to enable Virtual Machine Platform in order to start WSL :How this is even possible?

Cannot enable Virtual Machine Platform

I'm running Windows 10 Enterprise Version 10.0.19043.1826

I was trying to install WSL2 but when I was trying to enable Virtual Machine Platform I got this error when restarting: "Failed to update services".

I ran systeminfo.exe and checked to make sure virtualization is enabled.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I'm sorry that the issue still persists. Yes, it's possible that having VMware and VirtualBox installed on your computer is causing conflicts with the virtualization features in Windows. You can try uninstalling both programs, then restarting your computer and attempting to enable the virtual machine platform again. If this works, you may need to choose between using the virtual machine platform or using VMware and VirtualBox. Alternatively, you can try enabling the Hypervisor Platform feature instead of Hyper-V, which allows for coexistence between Hyper-V and other virtualization programs.

 

Whenever enable "virtual machine platform" (or "core isolation") PC goes bluescreen with "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" on windows11 22h2

Hi. I recently upgraded to windows 11 22H2 and now I want to use WSL2. So I tried to enable "virtual machine platform" (or "core isolation") but after a restart, it shows a bluescreen with "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME". Auto repair does not work. I manually enter safe mode and it rolls back the virtual machine platform and my PC boots again.

Try to find logs or minidumps but cannot see any. This problem does not exist in windows 11 21H1 as I used WSL2 all the time. Contacted Microsoft support but it only asked me to install all optional features (drivers mostly) but nothing changed: still not able to enable the Virtual Machine Platform. Tried resetting the PC (keeping files) and not helps.

No idea what is needed to provide so please tell me anything you need.
