WSL Windows Subsytem for linux The system cannot find the path specified.I Was Uninstalled WSL and all distros last week but now I want to install it again please anyone help me I was trying it for last 2 days but it gives me a same error i have enabled wsl in windows feature but why my cmd or powershell can not recognize the WSL command my OS Windows 11 home 23H2 latest version

How to find the absolute path to WSL

I am attempting to import a Linux distro into WSL2 using a TAR file and need clarification on specifying the installation location.

My step so far:

Using the documentation from : Import any Linux distribution to use with WSL

Using the example in the documentation: wsl --import <DistroName> <InstallLocation> <InstallTarFile>

I believe the the InstallLocation is WSL and if so, how do i find my absolute path to WSL?

wsl not working after update. Error: The system cannot find the path specified.

Running the wsl command in Command Prompt returns the error "The system cannot find the path specified." Also, running the wsl.exe file, located at "C:\Windows\System32\wsl.exe," from the terminal returns the same error.
I added C:\Windows\System32 to the PATH, but the error didn't come from there.

I tried restarting all services related to WSL, such as Hyper-V, VirtualMachinePlatform, LxssManager, and WSL itself, but it didn't help.

I also reinstalled Windows without deleting my apps and file system, but this also didn't resolve the issue.

I attempted to collect WSL logs using a script, and upon opening the log.etl file using Windows Performance Analyzer, I found an LxssException with result 0x80070003, indicating it couldn't find the path "onecore\vm\wsl\lxss\wslutil\liftedsupport.cpp."

I added and removed "%USERPROFILE%\.wslconfig" with a simple memory configuration, but it had no effect.

I also attempted to remove a registry entry following instructions here, but this didn't resolve the issue, so I re-imported the deleted registry.

I'm using the latest version of Windows 11 Pro (23H2), and my build number is 22631.3296.

Just one week before encountering this error, I faced a similar issue and resolved it by following instructions here, but this time it wasn't as straightforward.
