Windows 10: WSL --mount error. Error code: Wsl/Service/AttachDisk/0x8007000f

Trying to mount USB card reader to WSL.

I have Windows 11 running Kali using WSL. I have a USB sd card reader that I would like to mount so I can view linux file system sdcards. I use: get-ciminstance -query "select * from win32_diskdrive", to list my available drives. Then use: wsl --mount \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE2 --bare, to mount. I received this error:

The system cannot find the drive specified.

Error code: Wsl/Service/AttachDisk/0x8007000f

When I put the USB stick into the pc, it shows in file explorer. When I run the mount command, it disappears. Any help getting this to work would be appreciated.

 

Error code: Wsl/ERROR_SERVICE_DOES_NOT_EXIST | WSL seems to be broken after upgrading to Windows 11

Hi Microsoft Team,

I recently upgraded to Windows 11 and attempted to install Docker. However, upon installation, I encountered difficulties launching Docker due to issues with WSL.

WSL seems to be broken in my system.

when I run below command in command prompt (admin mode) :

wsl --list --verbose

I get below error :

The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

Error code: Wsl/ERROR_SERVICE_DOES_NOT_EXIST

Therefore, I uninstalled docker and WSL.

Turned off below windows features:

1. Hyper-V
   
2. Virtual Machine Platform
   
3. Windows HyperVisor Platform
   
4. Windows SubSystem for Linux
   

Rebooted.

Turned on the above windows feature and installed Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS from Microsoft Store.

Rebooted.

But its still not working.

when I run below command again :

wsl --list --verbose

It still gives the same error.

Could someone assist with this query, please ?

 

Error code: Wsl/Service/CreateInstance/MountVhd/ERROR FILE NOT FOUND

Hello team,

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed software is installed on the user's machine from the Microsoft Store. The user updated the application using the command WSl --update.

After the update, couldn't connect to the display error appeared. To fix it, reinstalled the OpenSUSE Tumbleweed from the software store.

The existing C drive path mounted to the application is now failed to sync with the application.

Error code: Wsl/Service/CreateInstance/MountVhd/ERROR FILE NOT FOUND

Please assist to mount the old C drive files.
