Windows 10: WSD Print over SSL with Win10

    WSD Print over SSL with Win10


    I want to use WSD Print over SSL, and then in ProbeMatch response, I change the value of "wsd:XAddrs" form "http://device ip address" to "https://device ip address".

    When receiced ProbeMatch response, PC try to establish a SSL connection, but after successfully estabish a SSL connection, PC dose not send a "Ger Request", just closes the connection.

    Therefore, the Printer can not be discovered by WSD SOAP.


    I want to konw why the PC closed the SSL connection? WSD Print can not work over SSL!

    When using the Add a device wizard in Win-10 I see several printers with odd names. WSD printer ports

    I want to disable WSD printer detection on my network. But I want to also keep network discovery turned on.

    How can I ensure that only printers listed by my print server are presented?

    My environment is running a functional level Server2012R2. All desktops are Win10. My print server is 2012R2.

    Win 10 keeps changing my printer static IP port to WSD, already turned off windows printer management

    Have seen this problem on a few machines. WSD takes over as the default port from a port based on a static IP. When someone prints there are no errors except the printer prints nothing. Best advice I have seen for manually added printers is:

    Control Panel -> Device and Printers -> Add A Printer -> The Printer I want isn't listed -> Add a printer using a TCP/IP address... -> change "Device Type:" from default "AutoDetect" to "TCP/IP Device".

    That key last step may prevent the dreaded WSD port being added as an available port. Enter the IP and continue the installation. I tried adding an existing printer twice, one with AutoDetect and one with TCP/IP Device. The AutoDetect install showed up
    as WDS, and the TCP/IP install showed up with static IP in the port and no available WDS ports listed.

    Hopefully that method works for most cases.

    WSD Print over SSL with Win10

    Since July 2017 Windows 10 update, Edge will not print pdf files from a WIFI printer using WSD security.

    Since the July 2017 Windows 10 update, Windows Edge will not print .pdf files through a WIFI printer using WSD security. It claims it is unable to use my WIFI default printer using WSD security and simply "hangs" on any other available printer icons. Edge
    will still print .pdf files through my WIFI printer using WSD security if they were saved before 2016. I had no problems printing PDF files-- viewed in Edge--through my WIFI printer using WSD security prior to the large July 2017 update. I have discovered
    one workaround-- remove Edge as the default .pdf file viewer and printer and use Acrobat Reader as a default for .pdf files. But I expect Microsoft to improve performance rather than degrade it. THE PROBLEM IS LOCATED IN THE RECENT EDGE UPDATES AND NOT WITH
    THE WINDOWS 10 OPERATING SYSTEM. Any knowledgeable suggestions?
