  1. WLAN Autoconfig issues

    Hi,

event viewer describes this as a issue:

WLAN Extensibility Module has failed to start.
    Module Path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\bcmihvsrv64.dll
    Error Code: 126

I have done every single thing that all the guides/steps say to do WLANauto config is set to automatic and is on in services.msc, I've done command line fixes, I've done the network and sharing center fix, I've disabled and re-enabled the adapter in device manger, unticked 'allow windows to shut down this device to save power', reinstalled drivers etc, I have reinstalled windows several times over, I have reinstalled drivers for my Archer TP-Link T6E wifi card but still it persists.

Always on log-on at start up, and then whenever my pc wakes from sleep, this happens, never in games or browsing the web. Power options are exactly how they should be, so I don't understand why it is doing this.

It started happening after one reinstall of windows where I installed the driver for it, unbeknown to me windows had already installed it and ever since then there has been issues, even after uninstalling devices, reinstalling, newer drivers etc, it does not go away.

This is the third wifi card that has had issues but not of same make or model this year, but thankfully it has not caused horrific issues/BSODs like the others, and has not died on me, it's just a wake-from-sleep disconnect that I wish to solve. The line-up of my system has not changed otherwise, nothing is different.

    :)

  2. Windows could not start the WLAN AutoConfig service on Local Computer

I need some help to get my wireless connection to work again.

    • After recent Windows 10 Update, my wireless connection no longer works. I've done some troubleshooting and I have ruled out my ISP, cable modem, and router, leaving the issue to be something within the computer (Dell laptop - Inspiron 7537).
    • The wired connection works fine
    • When I run Windows Network Diagnosis, it tells me that the Windows Wireless Service is not running (see attached pdf report)
    • When I try to manually start the WLANSVC service, i get an error message that says "Windows could not start the WLAN AutoConfig service on Local Computer Error 193:0xc1" (see attached)
    • When I try to manually start the WLANSVC service from the command prompt (as Admin) I get a slightly different message that says "The WLAN AutoConfig service is starting. The WLAN AutoConfig service could not be started. A system error has occurred. System error 193 has occurred. *** is not a valid Win32 application." (see attached)
    • I've downloaded the latest Intell PROset Wireless drivers from Dell (V18.20.0.9) for the Wireless-N 7260 wireless network adapter and have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. This didn't help.
    • I've attached some screenshots and a pdf copy of the Windows Network Diagnostics report.

  3. WLAN AutoConfig Stopped Auto Connecting

    Hello Taylor,

I realize that the WLAN AutoConfig is not starting automatically even after setting it to automatic. We will help you.

    • Did you check if the Airplane radio button is turned On?
    • Are you facing this issue after any recent update installed?
    • Did you make any recent changes prior to the issue?
This issue might have caused due to incorrect or outdated driver for the device in Windows to function normally.

Lets try the below steps and check if the issue resolves.

Step 1: As you have already set the service to automatic, check if all the dependencies are also running. Try the steps to check Dependencies.

    • Right-click on WLAN Autoconfig
      and select Properties.

    • Click on Dependencies, you will find all the dependency services under box labeled this service depends on the following system components.
Step 2: Run an inbuilt Network troubleshooter
and check if the issue persists.

    • Press Windows + X key and select
      Control Panel.

    • Type troubleshooting and select troubleshooting.

    • Click on view all on the left pane and select
      Network adapter.

    • Follow the on-screen steps and check.
Step 3: If still you are facing issues, then
uninstall and reinstall the drivers and check if the issue persists.

    • Click start.

    • Type devmgmt.msc in Search and
      select it.

    • In Network adapter you will find the device,
right click on it and select the option uninstall.

    • Restart the computer and check.
