Windows 10: Wired RealTek Microphone Not Working

-Recently purchased a new Lenovo Computer. Model; 'Ideacentre,' Serial Number; SMJOLL6TG-Running Windows 11The computer has receptacles for headphones and microphone on the front. The mic is plugged in to the appropriate plug indicated by a 'microphone' Icon There are no other ports of the correct type available on the back -only the LAN and a few USB plug-ins.In the Win 11 menu I have tried 'Settings,' 'System,' 'Sound' and 'Inputs' for what shows in 'Device Properties' as a 'RealTek' Microphone actual brand on the mic is 'Logitech', however, nothing works. Sennheiser GSP 350. Microphone stops working when I open any game

Wow, ok. I think I've fixed it by accident while fiddling around.

It appears to be the Realtek audio being the issue here. I don't use my onboard sound card as my headset is a USB headset only and my speakers are plugged into an ASUS sound card.

Step by step fix:

• I went into recording devices
• I enabled STEREO MIX (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Then I set that Stereo Mix as the DEFAULT DEVICE (At this point it took over both input and output devices without my permission )
• Then set my Sennheiser headset as default recording and playback devices in their respective windows even though they both still said they were the default devices when they weren't

Headset microphone is currently functioning while in game now. I'll update the thread if it goes again. Should I completely disable Realtek audio??? Or will windows just force it to work again?

 

wired microphone not working in pc realme buds 2 wired

Hi, I'm using an ASUS Vivobook R558U with Windows 10 and have purchased a Realme Buds 2 wired earphone with an inline microphone, but my PC only detects them as headphones and not headsets, so I can't use their microphone on the PC. I tried uninstalling the driver and also tried installing the Realtek audio driver, but still it didn't work, and I also couldn't download the Realtek audio control from the Microsoft Store. please help.

Regarding to your information I assume that you can't use your Realtek microphone.

Based on your description, it seems that you are able to find the device, but there is no input signal from the microphone.

May I ask what operating system you are currently using?

Do you have any other input devices available? If so, please try using a different microphone to see if it works properly, which can help

eliminate any potential issues with the system itself.

Also, could you please provide a list of your audio input devices?

Go to Settings->System->Sound check it.

It appears that some Realtek built-in microphones have two options, with one being usable as a microphone and the other not.



If you select the correct option and can find the device, it is likely that there is an issue with your sound card driver. I suggest contacting the

manufacturer of your device, providing them with the version of Windows you are currently using, and asking for a Realtek driver that is

compatible with this version of Windows. Try reinstalling the driver to see if it resolves the issue.
