Windows 10: Windows Update Problem / Couldn't find qmgr*.dat

Hi! I would like to ask about my windows update problem.

I can't install windows update. It says that


"Your device is missing important security and quality fixes.
There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: 0x80080005"


I already tried resetting windows update but it wasn't successful as it says that


"Could not find C: Program Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat"


I already tried solutions online but it still did not solve my problem. I hope anyone can help me solve this problem.

There is no qmgr*.dat anywhere on my computer

I am attempting to follow the steps found
hereto reset windows update components. The first step is to stop bits and windows update service, and to delete the file "qmgr*.dat*

Here is my command prompt:

As you can see, at first it could not find it in the directory specified in the microsoft guide. When I attempted to find the directory myself, I found that I have no folder called Application Data in my ProgramData folder. I found
 another post which mentioned that the qmgr.dat might be somewhere else, so I next did the "dir  /s  /a  /b  /p  C:\qmgr*.dat" command, which as you can see resulted in the qmgr.dat file not being found anywhere.

What does this mean? The guide does say to delete this file, but the fact that it didn't exist to begin with makes me dubious as to whether or not I should continue to follow the guide as it is or if there is some deeper problem
that I need to fix first.

The kb article you quote might contain an error. The entry "Application Data" is a junction that actually points back at C:\ProgramData. The folder you're looking for is here:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Network\Downloader

On my machine it contains some qmgr* files but no qmgr*.dat.

 

Windows Won't Update? (Error 0x80d0602)

When I get to the step that says del %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat, nothing happens.

When I get to step 5 and type in

• regsvr32.exe mshtml.dllN

It gives me this:
