Windows 10: Windows Update Fails with CBS Error 0x800f0922 -Need help

We have few Windows 2016 Severs on which CU KB5053594 is failing. Troubleshooting steps tried:1. Running sfc /scannow gives nothing.2. Tried image repairing using dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth but no luck.3. Installed Netfx3 feature but no luck.4. 2025-03 Servicing Stack Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems KB5054006 is already installed.5. Updates failing at the time of reboot which takes it to Windows undoing changes. Windows Update Error 0x800f0922

I run into this error while trying to install Request Monitor feature of IIS. In order to troubleshoot it, I would recommend checking:

• CBS logs (C:\Windows\Logs\CBS)
• DISM logs (C:\Windows\Logs\DISM)
• ApplicationHost.config file (C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\config)
• The output of Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth command
• Procmon logs (Use Process Monitor tool)

In my case Procmon logs showed PARSE_ERROR_INFO while reading
applicationHost.config file which was corrupted. Reinstalling IIS solved the issue. 0x800f0922 Update IIS-RequestMonitor
of package IIS-WebServer-Core-Package failed

My Windows 10 desktop PC has been failing to install the following windows update: 2023-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5032189)

The error I get is: There were some problems installing updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x800f0922)

I have tried all the suggestions in this article: How to Fix a Windows Update Error 0x800f0922.

I have tried open services.msc and set "App Readiness" to "Manual". Click Start to start it manually.

Nothing I have tried has helped and I'm still getting the same error. Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

Windows refuses to update - Error 0x800f0922


Windows won't update, i ran sfc as an Admin in CMD and no issues.

• Adobe is activated on Edge but still doesn't work, could this be related?
