    Running 23H2 Build 22631.3007 and trying to install update KB5036893.I keep getting install error 0x800f0991 multiple times.I keep retrying, downloads ok, install fails multiple times. Please help as this is getting very frustrating.Many thanksErnest Francis

    2023-12 cumulative update for windows 11 version 22h2 for x64-based systems (kb5033375) install error - 0x800f0991 fail

    tried all the steps with no resolution to the failed install error 0x800f0991.

    any other suggestions?

    Good morning David.

    I've tried all the steps that you suggested that I do, but still no positive results. I even initiated to create the CBS.log (attached). After restarting, it still continued to fail. Now it has an error of 0X800F0991. Windows update also is listing a download for a 23H2, which is NOT my system. I have a 22H2. So needless to say, this has become very frustrating to say the least.

    Windows Update Error 0x800f0991

    KB5029351 update fail 0x800f0991

    Whenever I try to update Windows to build KB5029351, either through Windows Update or through Windows catalog, the update fails with a fail number: 0x800f0991. How can I update the computer?

    I use:

    • Windows 11 22H2, KB5029263
    • Intel i7-8700
    • 8GB RAM
