Windows 10: windows surface pro 7 not charging

Granted, I've had this laptop for a handful of years now, but I don't know what happened to begin this new problem out of nowhere other than possibly an update that came recently. But what happens is I'll plug the laptop in and it'll charge for a while. And then out of nowhere it'll decide to not keep charging. And then the only way to get it to charge again is if I unplug and replug in the charging cable. I'm hoping this means it's just an issue with the cable itself, but I'm worried it might be the computer itself as there is visually no problems with the charging cable. There's no splits, t

Surface pro 6 does not charge beyond 68%

Hi everyone,

For the last 6 months or so, I have noticed that y Surface Pro 6 (with Windows 10 Enterprise) is not charging beyond 68%. Its says 'plugged in' but does not charge the battery. It also gets very hot, feels like the battery is resisting
the charge or something. The fan is also turned on.

I have performed the following actions:

• Removed the Microsoft ACPI battery and reinstalled it
• Changed the surface charger to a colleagues' one

Both did not help.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

I suggest you to follow all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in
Surface battery won’t charge or Surface won’t run on battery and see if this helps.

Windows 10 Pro transfer to new Surface 7 Pro

I just purchased a Surface 7 Pro to upgrade from my Surface 3 with Windows 10 Pro. The Surface 7 Pro has the Windows 10 Home version that I would like to upgrade with Windows 10 Pro but don't know where to find my Product Key. I don't recall purchasing
and I believe that my last Microsoft Windows update resulted in the Pro version being installed. Can anyone help with step-by-step instructions on where to find the product key so that I can copy and install in my Surface 7 Pro.
