Windows 10: Windows Server Backup of Win 11 Client Unsuccessful Client VSS Problem Access Permissions?

I have a WHS 2011 that backs up three PCs on my home network. The newest is a Windows 11 PC and the back up fails. The other two Windows 10 PCs continue to back up properly.The following is form the Event Viewer for the Windows Server on the PC in question. Are there things I can do to configure or correct the issue causing the failed backup? Windows Server Backups for Windows 11 Client

I use Windows Server 2012R2 to back up my various desktops and laptops. I've used the Windows Server 2012 Essentials Client Connector on the various Windows platforms I've had - all Windows 10. I just updated a PC to Windows 11. I was able to install the Client Connector and launch the Essentials Dashboard to monitor the Windows Server 2012 machine. The problem is that the server doesn't see the Windows 11 Client. Windows Server 2012 is not quite EOL yet, so I would think connectivity for current platforms would still exist? Also, I haven't found anything regarding Windows 11 Clients for later versions of Windows Server (2016, 2019).

Are there options to use Windows Server 2012 (or later versions) to backup Windows 11 clients?

 

Windows 10 Backup with SBS2011 failing

We've had an office with an SBS2011 server and a dozen Windows 7 clients for several years. The server performs regular backups of the clients.The clients are all part of the SBS2011 domain (connected
initially via "http://severname/connect").

We recently installed a couple of Windows 10 Pro clients that are part of the server domain.

Backup of these fails. It sits at 1% complete for about 15 minutes then it fails.

The backup status on the client shows "Backup was unsuccessful. An error prevented backup from creating a snapshot of the volumes on this computer."

The VSS service is set to automatic and when I start the backup, the event log has an entry that says "VSS Service Started".

Nothing else shows up in the event logs other than an entry about 4 minutes after the "service started" entry that says "The VSS service is shutting down due to idle timeout".

I confirmed with "vssadmin list shadows" that no shadow copy was created.

I can manually create a shadow copy with "wmic shadowcopy call create Volume='C:\' "

Running out of ideas. Any suggestions?
