    I have a Windows Server 2016 system that had a pending Windows Update; we update through WSUS, systems are set to Download And Notify option 3. Yesterday, I went to install a pending update, and the update failed because there was insufficient free disc space. I cleared space, but it was almost quitting time for the day, so I didn't try to install again.When I got in this morning, I went to run the update, but it said the system was up to date. It turns out, the system installed the update and rebooted overnight, without any prompting.Sequence of events, per System log:3:51 PM: I tell pa

    Windows Server 2016 Upgrade

    When updating from windows server 2012 R2 to server 2016, I'm not getting the step by step procedures where you can select keep file and apps and other steps. I just get the setup screen, which after couple of minutes it display a window to select what type of windows server you want to install.

    Once selected it does a full install of windows server 2016, which re-images the C drive. Afterwards you have to re-install all your applications.

    Any suggestions on why it doesn't go through the step by step procedures.

    windows automatic updates

    i have some questions about the windows automatic updates in windows xp pro w sp/2. ive got about forty updates they recommend , mostly for security but i only installed two today. after installing them i found them in my add/remove programs in the control panel, if i add all these updates that is a lot of space on my hd almost 1 gig. i thought that updates just updated files and not created new programs. should i innore all these update suggestions from microsoft?

    Hello

    I've a GPO setting for WSUS updates which is working perfectly for all the server except 2016 servers.

    When i applied the GPO and check for updates on server 2016, it automatically install the updates and shows reboot option that it will reboot in outside active hours.

    We have PRODUCTION servers of SAP on 2016 servers and we cant reboot them without planned maintenance.

    Is there any way to stop auto installation as well as auto Reboot ??

    Please help!!
