  1. Windows Security "Sign In" prompt repeats every 25-30 minutes

My personal laptop, running Microsoft Windows 10 Home version 10.0.19044 has starting showing a Windows Security prompt every 25-30 minutes.I have taken the following steps:1 Checked which process is causing the issue. it less than helpfully lists "Windows Explorer". Using the process explorer program gives no usefull information, beyond stating all the processes windows explorer is responsible for. If anyone has any idea how to select the "Windows Security" prompt specifically, suggestions are welcome. Using the "sniper scope" again simply selects "explorer.exe", so it seems that my file exp

  2. Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

So Linux is switching to secure boot also? Or they have to because of UEFI?

Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

    • Linux
    • Linux
    • Linux
    • Linux
    • Oh and OSX
Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.

Windows Security "Sign In" prompt repeats every 25-30 minutes

Feedback Hub does not allow sign in, repeats "Please sign in" / "Choose an account".

Thanks for the suggestion but I see no change after performing those steps. Sign in fails as described in my prior posts. I should mention, when I ran the Get-AppXPackage...Register command from an elevated console, it seemed many
of the register operations succeeded just fine, but there were a few error messages such as the following...

Add-AppxPackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073D06, The package could not be installed because a higher version of this package is already installed.

...I assume that's expected but wanted to let you know just in case.
