Windows 10: Windows Search stopped working after Windows update.

Hello,I am having a problem with my Windows Search. Whenever I try to search for anything, it will show a white box witha loading "bar" at the top. This issue first appeared after installing KB5046740. I initially uninstalled the update and my search worked fine, but Windows seems to have reinstalled it without my knowledge or consent and I am no longer able to uninstall it.Sometimes it will show this instead:I have tried running sfc/ scannow, I have tried various DISM commands, I have tried various Get-AppxPackage commands, I have tried many, many things, nothing has worked! FIXED!! Windows 7 sp1 never ends searching for updates

need KB4048970 if using Vista - that's the latest win32k.sys patch. while it's listed for Windows Server 2008 only, it should also install & work under Vista SP2 as I've tested myself on an old Vista machine.

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

 

FIXED!! Windows 7 sp1 never ends searching for updates

Everything is working correctly with the current implementation and KB3172605 is already included in the current battery of 7 patches.
