Windows 10: Windows Remote Desktop Client fails to connect with error code 0x4 on only one of my computers

I encountered this error message while attempting to connect to a remote host on one of my PCs. I have two computers on the same LAN, and I can easily connect to the remote host using the Windows Remote Desktop client without any issues on my other PC. So this means the remote host is configured correctly.All settings are identical with no firewall present. Remote Desktop Connection error

Hi,

Today I tried to connect my Android phone to my Windows 10 PC via Remote Desktop Connection and I've constantly encountered this error:

"Because of a protocol error detected at the client (code 0x1104), this session will be disconnected.

Please try connecting to the remote computer again."

I tried listing all the network connections on Command Prompt and to my disappointment, failed to find any trace of port 3389.

If you think you can fix this, please help.

Windows 10 Professional remote desktop error 0x4

I have been connecting to a computer at another location (Windows 10 Professional) using my Mac for quite some time now. Suddenly, last week the remote desktop program gave an error code "0x4". I tried connecting with the previous version of the RDP client
to no avail. I also tried connecting with iPhone and another Windows 10 Professional – nothing seems to work.

The connection is over the public internet and I do know the correct IP for the device. No changes have been made to the network structure (e.g. port settings, or such). The environment in which the target computer resides is exactly the same as before.

How could I fix the problem? I'd like to note it is extremely hard for me to access this computer physically, so if it is possible by any means to fix this remotely I'd love to give it a try. I have not allowed other connection than RDP to the computer so
I cannot SSH or use other measures to change the target computer.

Are the computers connected to the same network, when they are next to each other?



If yes, you will be able to remote desktop as they are connected to the same network without any issues. As you are trying to remote from a different place the computers should be connected to internet to use the Remote desktop
connection. I suggest to refer this section Get started with Remote Desktop on Windows under article

Remote Desktop clients to use Microsoft remote desktop to connect to remote and check with the issue.
