Windows 10: Windows is running about 50 instances of UsoClient.exe

Even after following the advice given in https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/began-having-multiple-instances-of-uso-client-and/489c8ea3-93eb-48c5-bd84-31a1b9c1aeba - I still have all these instances. Why? They're using an appreciable amount of ram or at least by the time you tot up all 50, they are

USOclient.exe randomly opened

I realize the inconvenience you are facing. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

The usoclient.exe error may be caused by windows system files damage. The corrupted system files entries can be a real threat to the well being of your computer. I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC)
scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly follow the below given steps:

• Press Windows key + X, select
  Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.
• In Command prompt type sfc/scannow and press enter.
• Restart the computer.

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps:

• Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.
• In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

• Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.

Calculator allows a maximum of 50 instances on Windows 10

Hello,

I found a major bug in the Windows Calculator in Windows 10, maybe it affects all windows platforms. I can open a maximum of 50 instances, then when I open the 51th, it just closes all instances (no crash, just exiting). Showstopper!

In example, notepad allows way more instances.

 

UsoCLient.exe ScanInstallWait doesn't works anymore in windows 10 May 2020.

Confirmed after the July 2020 patch cycle:

I can't get any of the usoclient switches/arguments to do anything (windows update related) anymore.

1909 and 2004 showing the same symptoms.

It could be an issue where another argument is required so specify the command as "update related" since there's more than one StartScan entry in the latest 1909 and 2004 versions.

I found this power shell command that shows the current switches.
