Windows 10: Windows Explorer shows transparent backgrounds of images as black

It's very annoying because it makes it harder to see what the images were when they're just covered in black, even though when I open them in any image editor, it shows them with a transparent or white background as normal. I don't know why this is happening, but I would like to fix it.

I have a folder of icons that I use for my design work and after moving to Windows 10, the explorer shows black background where it should be transparent/white. It makes working very hard especially when icon itself is primarily dark colors. Please suggest
a fix to change colors.

 

OneDrive Personal shows images with transparent backgrounds as black

When viewing these in windows explorer, the backgrounds show as black for transparent images. When you have a logo with black text on it, all you see is a black rectangle.



Copying the same file to OneDrive for business or local drive, the rendered preview icon looks normal. The behavior only affects files in OneDrive Personal.

 

Photoshop: Creating Transparent Images

• PNG supports Alpha Transparency, that is that the image can have different levels of alpha (or opacity) throughout.
• GIF supports transparency too, but any part of the image can only be either transparent or opaque. There is no gradual shift, no "Alpha" level to adjust. (And transparency eats into 1/256 of your available colors.)
• JPEG supports neither form of transparency.

Internet Explorer did not support transparency in PNGs until IE7, I believe that it would show black instead of the page behind the PNG image. It did, however, support PNGs. (Which are still a great way to achieve a non-lossy, high-color image. (even without transparency))
