Windows 10: windows explorer jumps to top

This seems to be an ongoing problem. I have folder hierarchies of up to 20 main folders with over 30 sub-folders in some cases. The cursor jumps to the top on many occasions leading me to choose the wrong folders. I have done away with a slideshow, changed the background colour etc but to no avail. Surely this is a simple fix. Microsoft goes on about 'productivity' but this is wasting my time in trying to find the folder I want when it has disappeared out of view.Can someone give a simple and concise way to stop this happening. I cannot go to Windows 11 as it tells me my PC is not compatible!

Windows explore jumps to top

Will i am in a folder an i am scrolled down it jumps back to the top of the current folder with out warning and a random times constantly. It only started doing this after I upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10.

How do i stop explore jumping to the top of the current folder on its on?

 

Win Explorer - Cursor jumps to bottom or top of file

When I open Win Explorer with the intention of searching/browsing my files, the cursor will jump to the bottom of the list of files within 10 seconds of opening Explorer. Also, if I enter a previously opened Explorer and if I am near the bottom, the cursor
will often jump to the top. In either case, I must relocate the cursor to the correct area and start browsing again. I wish you could fix this with a update instead of waiting for a next issue of Windows.

thanks for all suggestions have carried out most and found no difference so far. Will check out the clean boot tomorrow. John
