  1. Windows explorer is ignoring "0" in file names when sorting

I just started having this problem in Win 11, the question was asked back in 2017 and while there was no answer the thread was locked. I would like an answer. I'm a teacher and specifically want the powerpoints for my classes to be at the top of whatever folder they are in and in order regardless of specific topic. So for the past 12 years of my career I've been naming my powerpoint 001 [topic], 002 [topic], etc. and that way they are always on top it doesn't matter what any other file in the folder is named I can quickly get at my powerpoints, without worrying that I have the wrong file. I u

Windows explorer is ignoring "0" in file names when sorting

    Sorting with File Explorer.

I tried the method that was complicated (3rd option) but fell over in second step as I could not find any "apply to folder button"'.

However, the simple put *.* in search bar, then sort results windows by date does the trick. It is slightly cumbersome as I have to do that each time I am selecting files (to upload to sharepoint) but a lot less hassle than I was having to scroll up and down between sorted file block and sorted folder block.

    Many thanks.
