Windows 10: Windows DVD Maker on Windows 10?

Something I really miss in Windows 10 is the Windows DVD Maker.

I tried to get it running on Windows 10 by copying the DVD Maker directory from Windows 7 over to Windows 10. When I run it, I get the following error:




I know there are other DVD making programs out there, some are even free, but the few I have tried do not compare to Windows DVD Maker's simplicity and beauty. Is there any way to make it work on Windows 10?

I suggest you to re-install Windows DVD maker in Compatibility mode and check if it works:

I suggest you to install DVD maker in Compatibility mode and check if it works Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode
and check if that helps.

• Right-click on the DVD maker setup file and click on
  ‘Properties’.
• Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box
  ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1/7 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
