    Windows defender service still running after installing Sophos Endpoint


    We have about 100 computers in our office. In the past when I've installed Windows and then install Sophos Endpoint it would disable the Windows defender service MsMpEng.exe. I recently setup 3 new computers with Windows 11 and Sophos Endpoint and noticed that they were receiving Definition updates from Windows update, none of the other 100 computer have received these updates. So I checked in the security center and it shows that Defender is not on but the MsMpEng.exe service is still running. I contacted Sophos support and of course that say it's a Microsoft issue and to contact them.
