Windows 10: Windows Could not Finish Configuring the System’ Error Message on Windows 10

Hi

I am facing serious issue while doing ISO Image of windows 10 in laptop dell using USB recovery option. Everything went accordingly but get into error from the following steps.

1. From the following capture, it automatically selects to default with in 2 sec,tried even selecting both option individually also but occurs same error as mention in step 2



2. So the above screen automatically takes to next step as attached below shows the error pop-up as "Windows Could not Finish Configuring the System’ Error Message on Windows 10......." So clicked ok and this takes to the previous step1 and everytime it shows loop.



So to troubleshoot this error msg in step2 I tried the following option

# opens cmd prompt as admin using shift+F10 keys,

So next in cmd prompt given these commands for troubleshooting

>>cd oobe

>>msoobe

Note: removed all external devices also.

Check the capture for clear view



After entering these cmds within 5-10 secs the cmd prompt windows closes and takes to next step3

3.It takes to new windows showing "Just a moment" msg and keeps on loading for hours, not taking to next step.struck at this point

As it struck at this point tried forced shutdown by turnoff the power button to check whether it works or not. But after turning on it again shows the step1 and also again tried step3 and 4 to complete the process even after it shows the "just a moment" and keeps on loading and struck at this point.


I hope that addressed the issue clearly that i am facing. Please help me to complete the new windows setup. Actually i am worried on this.

Please give the steps to complete the installation.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 After sysprep - Windows could not finish configuring the system

Hi All,

I am preparing for a deployment for Windows 10 Education in a institutional environment. However, after I run
sysprep from Windows 10 and restart, windows 10 could not complete the initial setup.

The error I am getting is : "Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer".

I been googling and trying for at least two day, however, all of my efforts are in vain.

What I had done so far:

1. Press Shift + F10 to bring out cmd and access "lusrmgr.msc" to reset and enable Administrator account

2. Check the log file and get error : Number of $mft security descriptors failed

However, it doesn't lead me to any conclusion.

(To check log file, Press Shift + F10 to open CMD and cd to C:\Windows\Panther and export setup.etl to logfile.csv and use notepad to open logfile.csv)

3. Use Windows 10 media to repair (tried automatic repair, system restore, startup repair), all prompt me "couldn't repair".

4. Run Windows 10 initial setup manually after I am getting error: "Windows could not finish configuration..." with MSOOBE, it went through, however, it stuck at "just a moment" for 8 hours. After restart, it go back to "Windows
could not finish configuration..." error.

(To run initial setup manually:

SHIFT-F10 to bring up command prompt.

type: CD C:\windows\system32\oobe

type msoobe)

5. Enable Safe mode in Windows 10. After reboot press F8 to load safe mode menu.

(cd C:\

bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy)

Tried simple safe mode or safe mode with network, all prompt me error : "Windows could not finish configuration..."

Could you guys please shed some light with me how should I troubleshoot further?

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
