Windows 10: Windows Configuration Designer Error 0x8007000d

Hello all!

I am working on creating a Provisioning Package with Windows Configuration Designer to help with managing a small fleet of Windows 10 PCs. I have done configurations in the past (testing on a Virtualbox VM), without problem. However, this time I got 0x8007000d when trying to run it on two different computers.

The two computers that I tried were a W530 running 1903 (Pro) and a T470 running 1909 (Pro). Both had the same error code when running. They were both launched from an already configured Windows install, not before OOBE. I haven't tried on a fresh Windows VM yet.

I thought that this might be a problem with some of my configuration in the advanced settings page, so I tried to reduce it to the bare basics (seen below). Again, 0x8007000d was returned. My configuration is in the image below.

Have you had any experience with WCD and this error? Thank you in advance for your help!



P.S. I am posting here because I saw a similar post on this subreddit from a couple of years ago that had the same error. They said that the problem was Resetting Windows as part of the configuration. I am not doing this, so I am unsure of the potential reasoning. If you need any more information, I am happy to provide it.

Error Code: 0X8007000d - Accounts Not Syncing In Mail Service In Windows 10

I would suggest you first try the in-built app troubleshooter and see if this helps.

Please follow the steps below:

• 
  Type “Troubleshooting” on the Windows Search bar and hit
  Enter.
  
• 
  On the left side of the Troubleshooting window, click on “View all”
  
• 
  Click on Windows Store App. Please provide a password if asked for it and click
  ok.

Windows Configuration Designer does not show error

I run Windows Configuration Designer in simple mode to configure a kiosk mode. In step "Configure kiosk account and app" it shows an error (yellow mark instead of the green check mark). But it does not show what is the error. I do not understand what I do wrong. How can I see this error description or get any other info about this error?

 

Upgrade error 0x8007000d

Hi, failure to upgrade- assuming that's what's happened- is not uncommon. It's a complex process.

If you research the error number- which can be useful- you may find

I suggest you try two simple steps initially and see if it helps.

1. Run the Window Update Troubleshooter (Settings, search for trouble)

2. If that doesn't help, try a tutorial from the Tutorial section here - take a moment to become familiar with this excellent resource:

Reset Windows Update in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

When you try to upgrade again, please take the basic precautions recommended in this tutorial:
Upgrade to Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials
- uninstall any AV or security software
- disconnect any unnecessary peripherals
- try a clean boot if necessary

Make sure you have at least 25Gb free on your C: partition

That tutorial includes links to fault finding upgrades; the links point to articles with further links.

You can do the upgrade manually- download the iso, mount it, view the new 'drive' in file explorer and run setup.exe

This means it's under your control and could save repeat downloads for reattempts.
