Windows 10: Windows BSOD after ram upgrade

I have a x99-a motherboard with an i7 5960x coupled with quad channel 4x4gb=16gb ram for many years running fine. Just last week a friend gave me a pack quad channel 64 gb ram 4x16, so I gave it a try. Installed it, tried it for the whole day no problem. Then at day end I was going to hit shutdown but accidentally clicked reboot, walk away came back to a BSOD. Then I tried a couple more reboots still BSOD when booting into windows saying your device ran into a problem we'll restart for you. So I tried system restore, did not work. Tried boot into safe mode sometimes work or it will fail and fo

Yes, it may work, but you need to find the correct modes yourself unfortunately. That's why I suggest to set RAM frequency to 2133 MHz. If the system will be stable, you may try to increase the frequency step by step.

 

Video card or RAM need upgrading?

Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
