Windows 10: Windows Boot manager only option in Boot Menu ACER Aspire 3

I have an old Acer Aspire 3 laptop with a broken display. As waranty is already expired and the laptop works fine besides the display, I had the idea to install centos and use the machine as a small personal server. When I enter the boot menu, the boot stick isnt displayed though - only windows boot manager is listed as an option. I have tried all the usual suspects, turning off secure boot, setting a supervisor password and just plainly restarting a few times, the option still doesnt register.

Acer Aspire 3 will not boot

Hi ,

My wifes laptop was getting slower and slower , I backed up all her important documents etc and was going to proceed with a factory reset . everything was fine until laptop froze during installation . I left it for a while but it was still frozen . I did a power reset , laptop restarted but went straight to ' Choose an option ' screen . Now the thing is it doesnt matter which option I try it always ends up with the ' Choose an option ' screen, its as if it is stuck in a loop . there are no restore points to choose from . I tried plugging my external CDROM drive hoping I could reinstall from a cd but the laptop doesnt recognize that there is a USB CDROM plugged in , I have gone to the bios to change bootmenu but there is no option to boot from CD or usb . the only thing that you can boot from is the hard disk . I have tried all the options and typed in commands in the dos window in the advanced settings , example CHKDSK ,MBR etc , but nothing works , I have now been trying to get this laptop to boot for hours , it seems as if it is stuck in a loop . the Laptop is an Acer Aspire 3 , Ryzen 3 ,4 gig ram , Radeon graphics chip . the laptop is nearly 3 years old ,

Boot menu question

Hey guys I'm trying to run windows repair on my computer by booting my computer from the vista CD, problem is the boot menu doesn't detect my USB keyboard. Are there any options in bios that will make the mobo detect my keyboard in boot menu? I don't have an analog keyboard on hand so this problem is quite annoying. *Bang Head :banghead:
