  1. Windows auto-resizing when using a KVM

I use a KVM to share one display 5120 X 1440 with multiple PCs running various operating systems. With the recently installed Windows 11 updates Windows 11, version 24H2 - 12/2/2024, I suddenly have a new "feature" I do not like on my Windows 11 PC, and that is that when I switch away using the KVM and then switch back, all my windows are resized to a smallish form factor, and stacked on top of each other, almost as if they are all snapped to the same upper left corner area of the screen. Snap is NOT active, and like I say, this seems to be new behavior as of the last update. Any sugge

    :)

    KVM switch with win 10

I don't think it is Windows 10 caused the issues but the design concept of the KVM switches with those cases. I had using ConnectPRO Plus serial KVM switches with Windows 10 systems for a long time, and I never experienced the resolutions resizing issues.

Most of KVM switches in market are designed with emulation-base technology in devices sharing including for sharing the monitor, so when the more advanced OS, like Windows 10, is upgraded to those emulation-base KVM switch will have difficult in emulating
/fitting the timing to the systems upgrade to Windows 10 which monitoring the I/O hot-plug and connected devices' status all the time.

I don't like to give suggestion of just changing the KVM switch and find a KVM switch based on DDM technology, but looks like there is no other solution then using more advanced KVM switches based on the DDM technology (Dynamic Device Mapping). Of you
may want to using an EDID emulator putting it between each connected PC/system and your old KVM switch to keep feeding the EDID of your monitor to the Windows 10 PC/system.

  3. Sending and Auto Resize Photos

    Hi

I always take photos with high definition (9-12Mpix).

The photo size are about 1Mo-2Mo, the sending by MMS is too large, I suggest auto-resize before send the MMS.

    Best Regards

Windows auto-resizing when using a KVM

Windows 10 issue with multiple monitors and KVM

I don't know why more auto I/O detecting functions are added to Windows 10. In fact starting with Win 7, MS already put auto I/O detection and control (including Video, Audio and USB devices ...).

To my limited observation and following the OS development trends, newer OS(s) are trying to share the core to different hardware platforms , not just for PCs, but including more "Smart" devices or even share the core with "Mobile" hardwares. I am not
trying to promote which KVM switches you should go for, but

suggest a good KVM switch should be meeting it basic function - independently from connected devices' OS and let the connected systems feel all the shared devices are the true devices just like connected directly to the system(s) without the KVM switch.
