Windows 10: Windows 1607 and iphone 5s

Discus and support Windows 1607 and iphone 5s in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; Did a clean install of 1607, and now when I connect iphone 5s usb cable to laptop and iphone it comes up on iphone and I select trust, but it does not...     Windows 1607 and iphone 5s


    Did a clean install of 1607, and now when I connect iphone 5s usb cable to laptop and iphone it comes up on iphone and I select trust, but it does not show up on this pc.

    Windows 10 does not see iPhone 5s

    Windows 10 does not see my iPhone 5s in its File Explorer. Sometimes it does - sometimes it doesn't. I am talking about those occasions, when the iPhone 5s is connected to the PC via a cable. iTunes does see the iPhone 5s. iTunes does see the iPhone 5s via
    Wi-Fi as well. I have several photographs on the iPhone 5s and I have to move them to DropBox or post them to Facebook instead of getting to them directly on File Explorer.

    Thanks for coming back.

    No, the phone is an iPhone 5S running iOS 10.2

    Windows 10 Home version 1607 build 14393.479 (latest update KB3201845).

    It is the lack of information in Windows 10 regarding the switch in the red box above that is the problem.

    What are we supposed to do next?

    Hi Henry, could you clarify "iPhone comes up on IPhone." If you could be more specific, I'm sure you would get more responses.

    What I mean is that the iphone prompts me to trust the device, windows 10 1607 and I select trust but Henry's Iphone does not show up when I click on this pc. It did in windows 1511. All I see is local disk and dvd drive.

    I think that if you install iTunes it will install the correct drivers that will allow you to manage the phone with iTunes. It will also let you access the picture roll on the phone with the windows photo tools.

    Hi Henry, sorry to be so thick. Now I understand. You need to install the correct driver as windows just uses a generic USB device driver. The right driver is already on your PC if you have iTunes. You just need to go to device manager and under portable devices you will find the iPhone. You'll need to select update driver and then browse my computer then pick the right driver by navigating to the place where iTunes stores it's drivers at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. And click OK. The correct driver should appear. I had the same problem a while back.

    maybe you could try going to device manager and uninstalling the iPhone and start all over. Do the driver thing described previously and see if it helps.
