Windows 10: Windows 11 update - Volume Slider no longer appearing

I have Windows 11 which did updates about 7 hours ago. I ran it whilst getting ready to go out then when it finished I logged in then closed everything down. I've now turned the PC back on but changing the volume is a pain the neck because I now have to check the icon to see what level the volume is at. When I change volume I used to get a small slider that stayed on the top left of my screen for about 30 seconds then went off. In the last update that changed and it was placed at the bottom of the screen just above taskbar but now it's disappeared. Is there any way of getting that back as

Volume slider not working on Windows 11

Hi, I'm having this problem in which the volume slider nor the hotkeys work on increasing or decreasing the volume. The visual slider works but the volume of the PC remains static. The only way to increase/decrease it is by altering the volume in the application i'm using (YouTube, Spotify, ecc). I've already tried restarting the service, windows explorer (found the same question from another user but trying the suggestions that were givven to him didn't work). Anyone knows how to fix this problem? Thanks!

 

Fall Creators Update made a strange new volume appear

For some reason, Windows Fall Creators update caused a new volume to appear, but only shows in Windows defrag/optimize utility - I can't find it anywhere else. It's called \\?\Volume{15014195-6a1d-4599-b032-bba49f32a765}\ - when I click on it, the analyze and optimize buttons fade out. Obviously some kind of glitch, but annoying just the same. Anyone else seeing a new volume after the update?

 

speaker ( or sound ) slider switch disappeared

  Are you able to use Volume slider on the taskbar?

  Do you get any error message?

  Are you able to see sound icon on the taskbar?
  

I suggest you to hoover your mouse on the right side of the taskbar and click on the sound icon and try to use volume slider and check if it that works.

Follow the steps below and check.

• 
  Discover the empty slot on the
  Taskbar and Right click.
  
• 
  Click on Properties.
  
• 
  Under Taskbar tab and Notification area
  click on Custom.
  
• 
  Tap on Select which icons appears on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Turn on Volume option.
