  1. Windows 11 "Screenshot copied to Clipboard, but couldn't save

Good morning,I have started using Snipping tool and only just learned that you can Win+Shift+S then use the rectangle tool to capture an area. When I attempt this I get a notification that pops up and tells me, "Windows 11 "Screenshot copied to Clipboard, but couldn't save"What am I doing wrong as I am under the assumation that this should auto save it to pictures not unlike "WIN+Print screen" does?I would use "WIN+PRINT SCREEN" but I am running 6 monitors so I would just end up with large captures of predominately info I dont require.Am I missing something?I have currently tried the following:

  2. Windows 11 "Screenshot copied to Clipboard, but couldn't save"

    Hi ,CynicalDrake7

I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.

The Snipping Tool (Windows + Shift + S) does not automatically save the screenshot to a file, it copies to the clipboard and to save it you need to open the notification and save the file afterward. Or you can paste it on an application like Paint and save it from there.

  3. Windows 11 "Screenshot copied to Clipboard, but couldn't save"

    Good morning,

I have started using Snipping tool and only just learned that you can Win+Shift+S then use the rectangle tool to capture an area.

When I attempt this I get a notification that pops up and tells me, "Windows 11 "Screenshot copied to Clipboard, but couldn't save"

(EDIT: Also getting "Cant find Pictures folder For Help, contact your admin or support person"

I am admin, I am signed in as admin, it is a personal use home system)

What am I doing wrong as I am under the assumation that this should auto save it to pictures not unlike "WIN+Print screen" does?

I would use "WIN+PRINT SCREEN" but I am running 6 monitors so I would just end up with large captures of predominately info I dont require.

    Am I missing something?

I have currently tried the following:

    1. Uninstall snip tool and reset computer
    2. System updates all current
    3. Toggle on and off auto save many times
    4. Reset App
I feel like I am bashing my head against awall. Any ideas?

  4. Windows 11 "Screenshot copied to Clipboard, but couldn't save

Does hibernate save windows clipboard copy file ?

The clipboard is NOT a file. It holds its data in memory.

The clipboard data does survive a hibernation.

You could easily answer the question yourself like so:

    1. Press PrtSc
    2. Hibernate
    3. Return from hibernation
    4. Open Word
    5. Press Ctrl+V to paste the clipboard's contents.
