Windows 10: Windows 11 screen overlay for sound volume or desktop switching not showing

Since I installed KB5024670 and KB5023706 on 2023-03-15 and restarted the system,I realized that some "overlays" are not showing up anymore:desktop switcher Win+Tabswitching desktops using Ctrl+Win+left/right still worksbut its not possible to see all desktops and move windows aroundsound volume when changing volume using special keyboard keys, including mutechanging the volume still works, but there is no visual feedback anymoredisplay brightness using special keyboard keysTask View icon on taskbarWhat is still workingroject overlay Win+pSidenote: I have https://github.com/valinet

Volume Mixer not showing muted app

The application was muted on Windows 10 with November update. Now I am using Anniversary update, on build 14393.10

The initial step did not help make Banished show up in the Volume Mixer, nor did the article.

Windows volume & brightness overlay slider missing

I cannot see the volume slider overlay and brightness slider overlay on top left of screen when i press the designated buttons on my laptop keyboard.

Brightness and volume actions work but cannot see the overlay for some reason. even tried recent update of windows and restarting the services and even disabling the device in device manager.

Any help will be appreciated
