  1. Windows 11 removed 'Speaker Fill' option on analogue 5.1 surround sound

Hello and hope you are good.Basically from Windows 7 onwards, there was always a feature named 'Speaker Fill' on the Audio GUI for 5.1 surround sound. Now this feature added a stereo wide channel for the center speaker audio output in 3D applications, I will write an example. Some driving games, the engine sound would only output on the center speaker which not only sounds really quiet but the sound quality is awful, it sounds mono which essentially it is.What the Speaker Fill feature would do is stereo widen the center channel output to the front left/right speakers which sounds great, but this

No sound output device on Windows 10 with analogue speakers

    Hello,

I have a HP Envy desktop running Windows 10, version 2004. The desktop has analogue surround sound outputs connected to a surround sound system (Creative Inspire T6300).

The sound system was working perfectly (until a recent Windows update?) but now there is no sound at all. There is no longer any output device listed in the output device sound settings. I have double checked that the surround system is still properly plugged
in and powered. The volume control is still illuminated when on and I hear a faint click as the system is switched on and off as normal.

The Device Manager lists a "High Definition Audio Device" and the Webcam. I have tried to update the driver but to no avail. The Troubleshooter offers me only options to troubleshoot the NVIDIA outputs on the HDMI connector which is no help.

This has me really baffled - I would really appreciate any ideas or assistance!

  3. Windows 11 sound distortion.

Playback via stereo analogue, SPDIF or analogue surround 5.1 are all distorted.

1.The distortion is not immediate but begins about ten seconds after the play button is pressed.

2.The distortion vanishes (in SPDIF at least) if the system sound screen is left open on the desktop.

3.The problem has not resolved with selective disabling of each of the sound player options and testing each individually.

    4. All drivers have been removed and replaced without effect.

5 None of the troubleshooters detect a problem.

The problem seems to be inherent in Windows 11 and appears to be a sound loopback and overlay.

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Windows 11 removed 'Speaker Fill' option on analogue 5.1 surround sound :p
