    Windows 11 One Drive Desktop App Extremely Slow


    Ok so I have been a long time user of OneDrive. In Windows 10, it was kind of slow to download files I turned off files on demand and it would take a day or two to download around 668GB worth of data on my wired home internet with download speeds of 800MB/s+. Not slow internet. I upgrade to windows 11 and it's been nothing but problems.Problem #1: It'll go for over a week with my PC on 24/7 to download the SAME 668GB worth of data, and it never seems to finish or the download speeds are nearly 0.0 kb/s. I have yet to see it finish.Problem #2: it's making an EXCESSIVE amount of temp files in

    * sleepy hard drive - extremely slow - timeouts ??

    My WD2500BEVT does the same thing, Western has admitted that *some* of their hard-drives have this strange behavior, unfortunately mine is not on their list.

    My suggestion is, if you are on Windows use quietHDD, and if you are on Linux you need to create a shell script to set the APM parameters using hdparm.

    Jumplist sometimes extremely slow

    I bought a new laptop with Windows 10 recently.

    Only after a few days, the jump lists started to get extremely slow.

    But they behave that way just for a while, then they work as they should again.

    When slow, it takes several minutes for the jump list to appear. It is extremely annoying. Especially e.g. when I have opened a remote desktop and want to open another one via the jumplist.

    I had exactly the same problem with my old Windows 7 PC and assumed that I would get rid of that problem,
    changing both PC and OS, but no.

    I do not want the standard answers to this problem:

    - Disable Aero

    - Clear the (Explorer) Cache for Jump lists

    - etc.

    It is definitely something else. I mean, how would the jump list cache get full after only a week? And why does the jump list get slow only sometimes and then suddenly works just fine again?

    So please, give me an answer that takes this into consideration.
