  2. Persistent LiveKernelEvent 124 UNSOLVEABLE??

Hello! My name is Mostafa, and I’m an independent advisor and a long-time Microsoft user.

I’m sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I will try my best to assist you with this so that you find a satisfactory solution.

LiveKernelEvent 124 is a hardware error that occurs when your computer’s hardware fails to respond to a request from Windows. A variety of issues can cause it, Yes, your BSOD issue may be related to a faulty PSU. It’s also possible that it could be related to a faulty CPU. It could also be related to a faulty motherboard.

You have already tried all the steps, such as

    - Scanned and repaired all drives

    - Downgraded from Windows 11 Pro to Windows 10 Pro (complete wipe)

    - BIOS Update PRIOR to new CPU installation

    - Reinstalled BIOS

    - All driver and software updates

    ........

Your BSOD issue may be related to downloading files. It’s possible that there’s an issue with your network adapter or its driver that’s causing the problem. Please Uninstall or Disable your Network adopter by going to Device Manager and trying with another Adopter. If you’re still having trouble after trying these steps, I suggest you go to a specialist that they check all your hardware. Thank you.

    Best,

    Mostafa

    Persistent LiveKernelEvent 124 UNSOLVEABLE??

I upgraded my CPU recently from a Ryzen 7 5700X to a Ryzen 9 5950X. I made sure that the motherboard was capable of handling the CPU but as of right now I'm not even sure anymore.

I am getting BSOD when downloading programs. Initially it was iTunes music downloads but I uninstalled that to see if it would still happend and it did while I was downloading other programs. Interesting, it doesnt crash when running demanding Adobe programs. I have never experienced this kind of BSOD event before. Now I'm also experiencing BSOD events with normal downloads.

    My specs are -

    Windows 10 Pro 64bit

    AMD B550 gaming gen3 (ms-7b86)
    AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor
    ADATA XPG Spectrix D50 RGB DDR4 3200Mhz 32GB RAM

    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080
InWin P85 850W 80 Plus Gold Full Modular PSU

Correct me if I'm mistaken but LiveKernelEvent 124 is related to hardware as suggested by the event viewer as well (minidump files linked below)

Steps I have taken so far to try and fix this issue -

    - Scanned and repaired all drives

    - Downgraded from Windows 11 Pro to Windows 10 Pro (complete wipe)

    - BIOS Update PRIOR to new CPU installation

    - Reinstalled BIOS

    - All driver and software updates

    - (MOST RECENT) Updated all chipset drivers to account for the new CPU integration with motherboard as suggested by previous advisor

Issues I have looked out for -

    - No overheating

    - Fans fucntioning correctly

    - Reset to defaults in BIOS (no manual overlocking or XMP profiles)

    Questions I'm wondering -

    - Could it be the PSU faulting?

    - Could it be the faulty CPU?

    - Could it be the motherboard?

I can use the computer fine, however when I start doing something that requires downloading, the computer seems to just not want to deal with it. The BSOD happens spontaneously.

Here is the DropBox link with the most recent BSOD events and photos of the descriptions.

    Thank you in advance!
