    Windows 11, Insert Disc into drive error


    I bought a new Canon printer and I have Windows 11. I tried to download the software to install the new printer. Some of the software installed but the icon for the printer and scanner did not go on the desktop. An error message that I needed to to install the CD and the door for the CD keeps opening. I contact the business where I purchased the printer and they directed me to uninstall and reinstall the printer with directions. Windows 11 continues to give me the same error messages and won’t let me uninstall the new Canon. I was able to remove it but the printer program is still installed w

    Thank you for updating us. For better assistance regarding the "Insert a disc" error that you are experiencing, we would like to ask the following questions:

    • Have you tried inserting the CD/DVD to another computer?
    • Have you tried inserting a different CD/DVD to your computer?
    • Can you send us a screenshot of the error message?

    Hi,

    It seems that your USB is having an issue. We suggest running Check Disk to find and repair errors in the USB drive. To do so, please follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X and then select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Copy and paste chkdsk E: /f, then hit Enter.

    Please use chkdsk E: command to check the integrity of your USB drive.

    Note: Change "E:" to the USB drive letter you're using.

    Windows 11, Insert Disc into drive error

    "Insert a disc" error

    My laptop's dvd drive has suddenly stopped recognising dvds or CDs. When I insert a disc into the drive and double-click the drive icon to open it, I get an error box saying "Insert a disc - please insert a disc into drive E:".

    I've tried the following solutions:

    Running troubleshooter (no results)

    Reinstalling the driver

    Cleaning the drive lens (!)

    Also, I've run a malware scan as a precaution.

    System information: Windows 10 version 1703; OS build 15063.540. The only other information I can give is that this wasn't happening Friday, but is today.

    I don't know what to try next. Help?!
