Window Hello doesnt work, says "Sorry Something went wrong"

I have just bought a new Surface Book, completed all the updates to v 1709 and I have tried to set up Windows Hello.

I am asked to input my pin which i do, and then I just get the message "Sorry something went wrong, couldnt turn on the camera, make sure its working properly"

I have confirmed that the camera is working to take photos.

Help please.

• What is the make and model of the computer?
• What is the model of the Camera?
• Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
• Which app/website are you using to access camera?

It could be due to incorrect settings or missing/corrupt drivers or missing updates.

Camera not working for windows hello

My camera stopped working a few days ago. I wasn't able to log-in using Windows Hello and the camera app wasn't working either. I looked for a solution online and based on an answer on this website added a file in the registry. This fixed the camera app
but not Windows Hello. I removed my face data from Windows Hello and tried to set it up again. Now whenever I try to set it up, it says "Sorry something went wrong. Close Windows Hello, and then try going through the setup again."

I have already tried troubleshooting Windows Update and Hardware and Devices. Restarted after troubleshooting Windows Update and reinstalled the updates. It still shows the same thing. Any solution?
