It's a new laptop, was ok until i downloaded a zip file to install an app. just the presence of the file in the folder seems to cause windows explorer to hang. Event Viewer reports Application Hang:The program explorer.exe version 10.0.22000.120 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. Folders with zip files

I have like 30 or more folders and everyone of them has only one single zip file.
How can I extract all zip files inside of all folders?

    Folders with zip files

just go to the root folder and do a search for all zip files, then select all and extract where you want.

Windows 11 File Explorer repeatedly hangs when there is a zip file in the folder being viewed

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
