Windows 10: Windows 11 fast startup stopped working

I have an issue with fast startup on my PC i5-10400f, MSI MPG Z490, 32 GB DDR4. Some time after clean install of Windows 11 24H2 around 1 month fast startup stopped working. There were no configuration changes on PC during that time. From event viewer what I see is previously Kernel-Boot EventID 27 was with value 0x1, but currently it is permanently 0x0. I don't see any issues with PC, all works as expected beside of fast startup. Do You have any idea what happened with fast startup and how can I enable it again? I've tried turning off and on fast startup from control panel and power man

Fast Startup not working but hibernate is working.

I understand that the fast startup is not working after the check disk in your PC. We will help you.

To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• What issue were you facing to perform the check disk?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• What is the make and model of your PC?
• Which Edition of Windows 10 are you using?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Using Group Policy Editor:

Note: This option for using group policy is only available in the Windows 10 Pro editions.

• Press Windows Key + R combination and put gpedit.msc in
  Run dialog box.
• In the left pane navigate to:

• Now look in the right pane, you’ll got the policy named Require use of fast startup as shown above.
• Double click on this policy to get the window shown below.
• Now you can use following settings:
• Force “Hybrid boot” to be always turned on = Enable
• Do NOT force “Hybrid boot” to be always turned on = Disabled/Not configured
  (Default Setting)
• After making changes click Apply followed by OK.

Restart the machine and check if it helps. Keep us posted to help you better.

 

Can't get GPU-Z to start with Windows 8.1 startup

I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?

 

Fast Startup is not working

Try this, see if it helps:

1. Turn off Hibernation via Powercfg -h off.
   
2. Make sure that Fast Startup was enabled prior.
   
3. Run Optimization for ALL drives.
   
4. Use the PC normally for 24 to 48 hours with the hibernation off.
   
5. The next morning after the day or two, turn on the PC.
   
6. Log on and go to the registry and turn on Hibernation from there.
   
7. Do a restart and when the logon screen shows up, don't logon.
   
8. Do a shutdown in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
   

Check if Fast Startup works now.
