    Windows 11 Does Not Remember The Window Size And Position


    Windows 11 does not remember the window size and position when docking/undocking. e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer, Adobe, etc. I have checked the Settings > System > Display > Remember window locations based on monitor connection, however that seems to have no effect. When I use the laptop alone, all of the windows open in random locations on the main screen. When I connect to the dock and dual monitors, all of the windows open on one monitor in the same random pattern as the laptop alone. These locations may be forced to save using the Ctrl+

    Remembering Window Position

    I have Windows 11 and cannot save window position and size after shutdown. It will remember when it's opened/closed during the day without shutdown. After re-starting it will open to a fixed prior position, but not the last one prior to shutdown.

    I have tried all recommended actions on line, tweaking the bagMRU registry setting, "restore previous folder windows at logon" from Folder Options, etc., nothing seems to work.

    Anyone have suggestions on how to do this so I don't have to adjust window position after startup? Thanks for all suggestions.

    Windows 11 Does Not Remember The Window Size And Position

    ShellfolderFix not remembering windows size/position

    Recently started having problems with the fantastic little utility written by a member of the Windows 7 forums, whom I'm hoping now frequents these forums too.

    For some reason, shellfolderfix 1.1.15 is no longer remembering windows sizes/positions. I've removed it, deleted the db and even removed registry entries and reinstalled. But no matter what I try, it seems to remember some things until I reboot then it forgets them. If I "Save db now" it will remember it, but I can't imagine having to do that for every single window I move or resize.

    Windows 10 1809 17763.864 (2019-11)

    Anyone else seeing anything strange with this utility?
