Windows 10: Windows 11 automatic upgrade Download will not activate

A few months ago I purchased a new pc and a legitimate full copy of windows 11 pro. I restored my old pc windows 10 pro image on to the new pc and then used the new windows 11 pro licence to upgrade to win 11 pro. Today I turned on my pc woke from sleep condition to find it had upgraded to the latest version of win 11 pro, but was asking for it to be activated. When I tried to activate via Activate in Settings it now returns the Invalid Product Key error and the pc no longer appears in my microsoft account.. How do I apply a permanet fix for this?

If you upgraded to Windows 10 for free and ended up in a non-activated state, try following these steps:

or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack

 

How to stop upgrade Windows 11 automatically

The upgrade should not be automatic. It is meant to be optional, with a link you have to click to start the download and install.

But if you want to make sure the PC is classed as 'not ready for 11', then you could turn off TPM in the bios.

 

Windows 11 Home to Pro upgrade

Want to upgrade 11 Home to 11 Pro. Tried download, but apparently files transferred were for 11 Enterprise. This will not activate; error is "invalid digital license or product key". This is on a new Surface. How to proceed?

Can withdraw/delete this. The suggestion to downgrade - listed below - with a 'fake' windows 10 key works.
