Windows 10: Windows 11 ASUS Laptop WiFi adapter not working.

I’ve asked about this before, and one of the solutions worked long-term, but it has returned and I can’t seem to find the solution I used before.Basically no wifi options show up. Network reset is a temporary fix, but has now stopped working.I’ve tried the uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. My connection is fine and my router is normal. No other devices are affected.I get that it may be an outdated adapter, but I’d rather not have to operate on my laptop.

Wifi adapter disappears - goes 'hidden'


Running Windows 10 on an Acer laptop. Over the past month, the wifi connection dropped without explanation/warning.

First time, the adapter was visible in Device Manager (with a yellow triangle next to it). An interent search found the suggestion to uninstall it and restart. That worked.

Today, the connection dropped again. In Device Manager at first I could not see the wifi adapter listed. I clicked to see hidden devices and found the adapter and the Bluetooth (which I had not noticed was missing).

I again uninstalled, restarted, and both the wifi and bluetooth have returned.

Anyone any ideas as to what is happening, why it's happening, and what I need to do, please?

I have attached a screenshot of the DM windows as it is now, showing the wifi adapter name, etc.

WiFi button and WiFi Adapter dissapear after update Windows 11

I want to ask about the same problem after I updated Windows 11 last night 16/03/2023 with update details "2023-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5023706)".

Then my WiFi button disappeared, then I checked via Device Manager, my WiFi adapter is in a hidden position.

I've tried several ways to fix it,

1. Update the WiFi Adapter Driver.
   
2. Network reset.
   
3. Reset via cmd.
   

But still can't solve the problem. Can you help me?

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Home Single Language.

Version: 10.0.22621 Build 2262.

Brand: ASUS VivoBook.

System Model: X442URR.

WiFi Adapter: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter.

I'll tell you how I fixed an identical problem on a ASUS laptop that had run perfectly on Windows 7 and ran well on W10 from January until the Anniversary update in early August. I tried everything I found on this forum and two others. Nothing worked. The last thing someone suggested was disabling the adapter and using a WiFi dongle. Problem continued. Nobody suggested changing the wireless network adapter. I bought and installed an Intel 7260 WiFi card and just used the driver which was downloaded on the reboot after the install. All problems solved!!

I must have wasted two months reading and trying everything. Even the manufacturer support inferred I needed a new machine though they sent me a Windows 8.1 driver to try, with the same result.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to determine if they white list any cards and see if they have suggestions for a compatible card. They may want you to buy another laptop but if the cards aren't white listed, a simple card swap to one compatible with Windows 10 seems to be the answer.
