Windows 10: Windows 11 23H2 installation fails

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to update my Lenovo Thinkpad T490 to Windows 11. Last resort before going to some kind of paid solution is to throw this out to the community. Here's a summary of what I have tried already.Windows has been not-so-gently nagging me to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 for at least 18 months and assures me that my computer can run it. There is about 32 GB free space on the hard drive. Drivers are up to date.When I use the Update function from the Settings the update downloads and I am prompted to reboot. During the reboot, I can see the screen indicating

Window 11 23H2 failed to upgrade with 0x800f081f

I downloaded Windows 11 23H2 from this link

https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows11 and did an in-place upgrade. However, after the upgrade, my winver changes 22621.1702. If I try to update to 23h2 through windows update, the update fails again and gives a new error 0x80248007

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

Window 11 23H2 failed to upgrade with 0x800f081f

Hi

I was in the insider beta program and currently on 22623.1325. My windows update stopped updating a while ago. I was so happy when I finally saw 23H2 appeared. I could finally get back to a stable release build. However I kept on getting 0x800f081f after 100% installation and then the installation completely failed. Any suggestion on how to fix the problem?
