Windows 10: Windows 10 won't let Epson scanner start.

Running windows 10, Epson scanner will not start. I have deleted all Epson files and reinstalled the driver , 3 times. Once with Epson on the phone. When you check the status of the scanner it says it is operating correctly something like that. When you click on the app it says it can't start the scanner. Epson ran out of fixes. I downloaded the driver to my lap top and plugged the scanner in and it worked great. So scanner and cords are good. This problem started when I could not select the file for the scanner to put the document in to, locked up. Ideas?

Is that the driver version you are using?

What happens if you uninstall the driver, then connect your printer?

History: with which version of Windows was it last working? When did it stop working? Was there an update or upgrade around the time it stopped working?

Epson 1200 scanner now working! Very pleased.


Worked perfectly,

• Installed 2400 series driver (when it asked what model I had I also picked, 1270 and 4180 since these had the Slide scanner interface I thought it might add a few extra drivers)
• Restarted PC
• Needed to use Device manager 'Updated driver'
• Assign 2400 driver. (See attached image)
• Be sure scanner is powered on so it appears in device manager.

Tested the Slide scanner attachment, I used PRO mode and it was discovered.
I had to use the plastic blackout slide holder (for masking the slide) to find the slide though.
