Windows 10: Windows 10 version 1607. will not update. I have tried everything on the internet to fix...

Hi I'm really stuck with this, I have spent what feels like weeks trying to fix this. I seem to get different error codes after each time I try.


When I search for updates Windows finds the following,

Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems KB4049411

Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems KB4033631

• Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803.

• Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903.

they all will download it seems but fall short of installing. I receive multiple error codes.


0x8000ffff 0xc190013, I cant find the other codes as I deleted them and am currently trying once again to update.


I have followed instructions on multiple youtube videos. I have spoken to the windows support bot can not get hold of a real person. I'm at my wits end, any help will be appreciate, thank you

Unable to update Window 10 Pro version 1607 to version 1709

Have made several attempts to update Windows 10 version 1607 to the latest version 1709 and have not been successful.

I've done the following per some suggestions found online:

• Updated drivers
• Ran the Trouble Shooter for Windows 10 (Errors found were shown to be "Fixed" per the tool)
• Unplugged the printer
• Ran the DISM.exe

Although not at every attempt, I have received the following errors:

• 0xc1900101 - 0x30018
• 0x900704c7

Can someone please advise me as to what the errors are and provide me with the steps to update Windows.

Well, sorry for so many posts in a row but I wanted to compile what has happened with this clients system:

First I tried the "assistive technologies" update and kept getting the dreaded 0x80070057 error. So, I imaged his Windows 7 drive and attempted to do a fresh install of Windows 10 version 1511 with his OEM key. Worked great! Installed and activated.

did some standard Windows updates but wouldn't bring up the new anniversary 1607 update.

Downloaded and tried to update to 1607, again with the 0x80070057 error.

then found the fix after doing some Google research and BOOM, it is now all updated and activated to Windows 10 version 1607! *Rockout :rockout:

In order for us to further investigate and verify what causes your computer to not be able to install Windows version 1607, we would like to gather more information:

• Are you getting an error message when trying to update to Windows version 1607?
• What other troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
• How are you trying to update your computer? Through the automatic updates? Or by manually updating it?
