    I got volunteered to recover from a computer what could be useful to a surviving estate. It was a huge server tower with Linux RAID, Suse-Leap, Windows-7 and Windows-10 'gamer'. Absolutely no idea where the windows installs came from or if there were any recovery mechanisms! I don't know windows and found myself in way over my head but sorted things out to the point where I could release the tower to the will executors with those 4 x 4tb disks wiped from which data had been recovered, The rest was shrunk to 3 ssd's with the 3 OSes on 2 of them running on my own very similar forrmer AM3 lega

    UEFI vs Legacy boot mode

    Yep, UEFI mode with Win 10 loading I get the Asus logo.

    IIRC there maybe an option within motherboard UEFI to disable the Asus logo but not looked into it. On another forum I have read that what logo you get at Win 10 loading is the easiest way to know what bios mode OS is in.

    If system is booting in legacy mode - you get Windows Logo.
    If system is booting in UEFI mode - you get OEM logo.

    Above also applies to Win 8 but not Win 7.

    Yeh "Legacy mode" not same as Native system legacy *Laugh :laugh:

    I think it used to say, BIOS mode UEFI, but could it be on legacy because my sapphire hd 7970 only have legacy, gigabyte hd 7970 have uefi?
